Hello Reader! I honestly can’t recall when I last sent you an email! So much happens to pull some of us away from our set systems. But guess what? It is not all bad. I trust that you have been well in your life journey of seeking and finding. That’s a simple way of saying that we are on a quest - seeking more of who we want to be in terms of self-fulfilment, impact, purpose, truth, legacy and so much more depending on what YOU define as your quest. The ancient script famously says - ‘Seek and you you will find’ And we will find. Perhaps not immediately in precisely the way we imagined, but I believe that life has a way of bringing answers. People Need PeopleNow to the title of today’s entry. I have been LISTENING. Listening to conversations with: Friends Colleagues Children Siblings Parents Young adults Professionals Experts Here is what I have found so far - people function best in a community of people. Not earth shattering, perhaps a little cliché, but NEEDFUL! We need one another. I say this from the standpoint of an empty nester, looking back to the many years of caring for my family to the best of my ability. Most people do their best, right? Well, the people that I am blessed to have in my life are all working within the parameters of excellence - showing up strong in the face of adversity, willing to reset, keen to take up new mantles knowing that the time is short. My encouragement to you today with this short message is - reach out. Push past the tendency to keep doing it alone. Where I live in the UAE, it can be isolating and easy to spend significant amounts of time in one’s own little bubble. But guess what? This is happening globally. My friend (lol) Oprah has recently drawn attention to the loneliness epidemic in the USA and encourages people to reach out to feel less isolated and not alone. ”Reach out to someone else who is feeling the same or worse than you do”. She exhorts her community to extend grace and kindness to others which will make us feel more CONNECTED. Does that sound doable? Here are a few things I do to reach out and connect:

Hello Reader, Why Put Flowers in the Fridge? Who does that? Why is this a thing?! For me, it’s about preservation. Holding on to a good feeling. Knowing that if the flowers are left out in the heat of the UAE (minus air conditioning), they will wilt earlier and then the reminder of joy at the time of receipt will also wane quickly. But does it make sense:)? The Beginning Putting flowers in the fridge started at least a year ago when I received a massive bouquet of flowers from my sister and...
Hello Reader, Anecdotes speak for themselves I trust that you are having a good weekend! I have had a peaceful one so far. I value peace. Peace of mind. Peace in everyday processes like rising, going to the gym, writing emails like this one. As one day leads to the next, by grace, I embrace what is simple and makes sense. You may have noticed that I like story. Anecdotes often provide a context. Today my story is values-based. I have lived in the UAE for over 20 years and view it as my home,...
