🎄Ho! Ho! Ho! The Gift of Boundaries🎄

Hello!!! Reader,

As the Christmas and holiday season approaches, a lot of us will be around family. Some family members are part of our daily lives, others will be visiting. I’m not sure what that looks like for you.

Drama

My Christmas is usually overshadowed by haunting memories from childhood when my parents were usually at loggerheads. It evidenced a time of unease, tension and overall lack of peace. Hmm.. nothing that the arrival of the Messiah should represent:).

No More Drama

Over the years in my own home I toned it down and crafted a peaceful day, focusing on the birth of a saviour and as I live in Dubai, having the luxury of ordering Christmas dinner already prepared and nicely displayed, minimising my pet hate - cooking.

Do not judge me (HUGE laugh!).

My Christmas prep is mostly about boundaries.

I know where mine fall - in pleasant places.

I learned a while back that one of my biggest judges was me, myself and I. Daily, I wrestle with the bothersome voice of the judge telling me what I can and can't do; who I am; who I am not etc.

Tiresome!

I sent an earlier email to this group talking about saboteurs and explaining how I value and lean into the voice of my sage.

One of my favorite mantras on repeat from, Shirzad Chamine, is:

The way of the sage is ease and flow.

And so dear Reader, I leave you with light, the light of pleasant boundaries.

Stay in your lane and whatever you are doing this December - enjoy each moment in gratitude.

I will be doing the same.

Merry Christmas!!
